'Dancing With the Stars' News: It Was a Heartbreaking Episode for the PenaVegas

Last night was unexpected for most of the fans, since the dancing pairs who ended up for elimination were the real-life married couple Alexa PenaVega and her partner Mark Ballas, and Carlos PenaVega and dancing partner Witney Carson.

According to Heavy.com, the night was "full of unexpected moments," as well as drama. After the first safe contestants were announced, which include Bindi Irwin and Derek Hough, Nick Carter and Sharna Burgess, Alex Skarlatos and Lindsay Arnold, and Tamar Braxton and Val Chmerkovskiy, it only meant that one of the PenaVegas was about to go home. Unfortunately, it was Alexa's time, and her husband hugged her after the announcement was made.

The website said that Carlos wished it was him that should have been eliminated instead of his wife, while he continued to hug and cry with her. The report even said that this was probably the "most emotional elimination" ever on "Dancing With the Stars."

Last night's episode featured the dancing partners performing an "unlearned" dance, and Bindi Irwin once again wowed everyone, when she performed with a blindfold on. According to People, Bindi's dancing partner, Derek, felt that they were a letdown last week, so he decided to "put tremendous pressure on himself" to make this new routine perfect, which they did.

Alexa also scored a perfect 10 from the judges, when she performed "Make It Rain" by Ed Sheeran. E! Online described their routine as a "tear-jerking performance," and the audience was deeply moved by their dance.

Besides the drama caused by Alexa's elimination, another surprise from the show was Tamar, who showed up just 20 minutes before the show ended. The RnB singer suffered from pneumonia, and had to miss the individual performances. The judges scored her performance from the rehearsal, but Tamar was able to make it to the "Dance Duet" portion of the episode.
