'Dancing With The Stars' Season 20 Premiere Date, Cast Rumors: Robert Kennedy Jr. Joining DWTS New Season
Is a Kennedy about to compete in "Dancing with the Stars"?
One of American politics' elite is said to have been offered by DWTS producers a chance to compete in the show when it returns next year. Robert F. Kennedy Jr's daughter, Kick, spilled the news on her Instagram account by posting a text message marked from "Father."
"I just got solicited to do a show called dancing with the stars," said the message. "They will pay me $150,000 to commit and additional $350,000 if I make it into the semifinals in a televised dance contest. I know that some of you have seen me dance and I thought I ought to consult you as I consider this offer."
Kennedy recently tied the knot with "Curb Your Enthusiasm" actress Cheryl Hines in August 2014 at the Kennedy family compound in Hyannis Port. If Kennedy does accept the offer, he won't be the first political figure to do so. Other politically-minded figures who joined the show in previous seasons include House Majority Leader Tom DeLay and Sarah Palin's daughter, Bristol Palin.
In other news, host Tom Bergeron responded to a fan's question about the premiere date on Twitter, and he wrote, "DWTS is back (last I heard) on March 16."
Showrunner Rob Wade has promised that veteran pros will be coming back for season 20 and that Disney Night will also be returning. Former pro Louis Van Amstel said that there is a "good chance" that he'll be back for season 20, while Kym Jones said that she's open to returning on the show.
"Dancing with the Stars" Season 20 is slated to premiere on March 16, 2015 on ABC.
