'Daredevil' Season 2 News: What Role Will 'The Punisher' Play In Season 2?
After a successful first season run, the Netflix original series "Daredevil" is returning to the small screen in early 2016. With the series still in production, details of the coming season are being kept under wraps, except for some official releases about some key cast members such as 'The Punisher' and the release of the season's first official trailer. According to a report in Cinema Blend, the series' season 2 will be featuring The Punisher a.k.a Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) in constant conflict with Matt Murdock's Daredevil (Charlie Cox).
The report cited a teaser trailer that was reportedly shown during the Comic Con Experience in Brazil, which showed the two crime fighters at odds with each other because of the Daredevil's dislike of how the Punisher metes out justice against criminals.
According to the report, a fan posted a description of the footage via Tumblr, which showed the Daredevil going through a refrigerated room full of hanged meat as well as people. He eventually finds someone barely alive and as he tries to help him, the injured man said that this was the work of just one man and not a group of men.
The next scene in the footage showed Frank Castle looking through a sniper rifle and about to put a hit on his target. However, his plan is foiled by Matt who kicks the rifle out of Frank's hand before he is able to take a shot. A fight between the two vigilante crime fighters follows.
If the report is true about the footage, it can be assumed that the reason for the conflict between the two vigilantes has to do with the Daredevil's disapproval of the way the Punisher deals with criminals. The footage is assumed to be coming from scenes in season two, so the report speculated that the first scene in the meat locker may have been the Punisher's doing. Given this revelation about the next season, the report noted that the conflict between the two main characters will likely make up a huge part of this season's storyline.
