Demi Lovato Finally Speaks Up on Nick Jonas Dating Rumors

Demi Lovato recently opened up about her rumored romance with close friend Nick Jonas.

Lovato released her sixth album "Tell Me You Love Me" last month and the internet has been buzzing about one particularly steamy song. Many believe her "Ruin the Friendship" single is about longtime friend and collaborator, Nick Jonas.

During an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the former Disney star finally addressed dating rumors with Jonas. "I'm told to ask these questions. I don't care, I don't. But supposedly there is a song about Nick Jonas and because you just claimed to be so honest I think you should be honest with that answer," DeGeneres told Lovato.

The brunette beauty responded, "But you don't care! Ya know, something that I will always keep to myself is who I write my songs about."

"I see, so it's probably about him. You're best friends?" the daytime talkshow host pressed, to which Lovato answered, "Yeah."

Lovato and Jonas, both 25, have been friends since they starred together on the 2009 Disney film "Camp Rock." Aside from co-starring in the widely popular film, they have also toured together over the years to perform. The first concert tour they had was with the Jonas Brothers, while the most recent one was their Future Now tour in 2016.

Although it's still unclear who the song is about, the duo did clarify during an episode of James Corden's Carpool Karaoke that their relationship is platonic. They also shared that they never had any romantic feelings for each other, with Lovato saying she normally "go for older guys." The pop songstress was referring to her ex, Wilmer Valderrama, who is 12 years older than her.

Following her appearance on The Ellen Degeneres show, Lovato revealed to Noisey that "Ruin the Friendship" and another track from her sixth album, "Only Forever," were inspired by the same individual.
