'Destiny' Post-Christmas Gifts Coming Start Of The New Year

Free loot is coming its way to loyal "Destiny" players and it is coming at the start of the New Year, according to a report in IGN. On January 7, the loot will drop and it includes 15 strange coins and 15 motes of light, which are an important currency used in the game.

Bungie, the game's developer and publisher, made the announcement via a blog post. They also told players to spend their gifts wisely and not spend all their motes on one upgrade. To get their gifts, they said players needed to check in with the postmaster after January 7 and they can get their packages from him which contains the gifts. The postmaster will be found in the Tower, according to their post. Bungie also promised to provide an update in early January to serve as a reminder for players to avail of their gifts.

Aside from these gifts, there are additional rewards for players who will participate in a playable activity when they log on between January 7 to 10. An exclusive emblem will be provided to players who successfully complete the activity and it will be given on January 12.

Right now, the game's special event is its Sparrow Racing League which runs until December 29. Bungie has announced the winners of the event's Film Festival, where it asked players to make racing videos. The creator of the video gets a special edition "Destiny" PS4 system and other digital items. The winning video used the track by Rihanna "Shut Up and Drive."

Bungie is sticking with its original plan to bring regular and special events to the game, rather than DLCs. An Iron Banner event will be happening again on December 29 and it will run for a week. Like the other events, it is also bringing a lot of rewards and loot for those who will participate.
