Detroit Red Wings vs Boston Bruins Live Stream Free: Watch NHL 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs (NBC TV Start Time)

The Detroit Red Wings and the Boston Bruins will fight it out in Game 5 of their Stanley Cup Playoffs 2014 series on Saturday afternoon. The Bruins will look to eliminate the Red Wings with a win today, but Detroit will be going all out to claim the victory to keep their postseason hopes alive. The game will start at 3 p.m. ET and can be watched on TV on the NBC network or online through free live stream (details below).

The Bruins will not be wanting to go on the road again to Motor City, and will want to end things here today at the TD Garden. If they fail to complete their series win here today, then they would return back to Detroit for potentially the final two games and leave the door open for the Red Wings to get back into the series.

If Boston do manage to win today though then they would progress to the Second Round to face the Montreal Canadiens, which would be a mouthwatering series for all NHL fans.

However, they are not there yet and must focus on the challenge in front of them.

Bruins coach Claude Julien has said, "We look at it one game at a time. We know that tomorrow's win is just as important as the first three. But there is meaning to tomorrow's win and that's what is a little bit different. We can end it tomorrow, but the urgency still has to be there and the focus still has to be there."

The Bruins will still remember last season's Eastern Conference quarter finals, when they were in a similar position against the Toronto Maple Leafs. They were 3-1 up but lost the next two games to go into a winner takes all Game 7. They ultimately managed to get their noses over the line and win that series, but they will be weary about ending up in another Game 7 here if they allow things to slip.
