Dragon Age: Origin Free on Origin as Part of EA's On the House Services
"Dragon Age: Origins" is a role-playing video game developed by BioWare and published by Electronic Arts. The game was released on Nov.3, 2009 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360 and Windows PC. A port for the Macintosh computers was released a month later.
Currently, the game is up for free download to Origin members only for the PC. Origins is sort of a games hub exclusive for Electronic Arts titles and users can register for an account for free. Origin bears some resemblance to Valve's Steam in the sense that one can pay for games and have them archived. Origin though is only for EA titles.
Origin can be used by members to purchase digital copies of EA titles but every now and then, EA offers free downloads of some of their titles for a limited amount of time. The offer is only good from Oct. 8 through 14 and accompanying the free download is another game, Bejeweled 3.
"Dragon Age: Origins" is set in the fictional kingdom of Ferelden where the land is in a period of civil war. The player then assumes the role of his choosing, selecting either the warrior class, the mage class, or the rogue class from three races – the elves, the humans, and the dwarves.
The players are then tasked in uniting the kingdom to prepare in an inevitable invasion by demonic forces.
