'Dragon Ball' Movie to Introduce More Saiyans
More Saiyans will debut in the upcoming "Dragon Ball" movie. At the recent Jump Festa in Tokyo, Toei Animation revealed that the movie will explore the origins of the Saiyans and will introduce more members of the race.
Last weekend, Toei Animation attended the Jump Festa Anime and Manga Con in Japan and dropped a few details about the "Dragon Ball" movie. During the event, the Japanese animation studio revealed that although the "Dragon Ball" creator has already created his own share of Saiyans over the years, fans can expect the upcoming film adaptation of the popular manga and TV series to introduce more of the never-before-seen members of the warrior race.
While little is known about the film, Toei Animation revealed in its press release that the "Dragon Ball" movie will heavily focus on the Saiyan being the strongest race in the universe. "Since 'Battle of the Gods,' Goku has undergone new forms from Super Saiyan God to Super Saiyan Blue to other evolved forms that have gone up against many invincible warriors from multiple universes. This new story will focus on the origin of the Saiyans' strength and what it means to be a Saiyan," said Toei Animation.
Before the Japanese animation studio confirmed last weekend that a "Dragon Ball" movie was in production, Toriyama teased in recent months that fans of the franchise will get to know more about the Saiyan race in the near future. Previously, he helped usher in the discussion of the race's origins when he shared new details about the first Super Saiyan God, Yamoshi.
As the "Dragon Ball" movie animates Yamoshi's origin story, fans should expect to see a lot of new Saiyans in it. According to reports, Yamoshi and his five righteous Saiyan comrades will get his film debut in the upcoming film. In the manga, their group is known to throw coup against the evil Saiyans.
The "Dragon Ball" movie is set for release in Japan in December 2018.
