'Empire' Season 2 Spoilers: Morocco Omari Joins Cast; Lucious Going Back To Prison?
Musical drama TV series "Empire" season 2B isn't going to be back until next month but Fox has already dropped some teasers on what to expect when the show returns. According to Crossmap, a new promo poster has already been released and it features the Lyon family comprising of Cookie (Taraji P. Henson), Lucious (Terrence Howard), Hakeem (Bryshere Y. Gray), Andrè (Trai Byers) and Jamal (Jussie Smollett).
The poster doesn't give much hints but some fans speculate that Cookie being at the frontmost part of the shot can indicate that she is now the head of the family, especially since Lucious has been removed from the topmost position. But many are guessing that it's not going to be an easy position for Cookie to be in since the Lyon Empire has been going through a rough storm.
As noted in Movie News Guide, their company is in danger because of Mimi Whitman (Marisa Tomei) and her wife Camilla (Naomi Campbell), who is also Hakeem's former lover. It can be remembered in the first season that Lucious sent Camilla away and told her that she wasn't good enough for his son. But now she's back and it seems like she is determined to bring down the paternal head of the Lyon family.
There's also the possibility of Lucious returning to prison with the arrival of a new character on the show. TVLine detailed that "Homeland" star Morocco Omari has been tapped by Fox to have a major recurring role as an "FBI hotshot." He will be playing as Tariq Cousins whose role involves bringing trouble to Empire Entertainment's former head.
He is the head of his entire FBI department and is described as "extremely bright and supremely confident." The source reported that it's expected that he will be going after Lucious and just waiting for the perfect timing to nab him. So if Lucious isn't careful with his actions, it won't be a surprise if he goes back to serve jail time.
"Empire" season 2B will premiere on March 30 at 9 P.M. EST on Fox.
