Facebook Users Panic Again Because of New Privacy Hoax Issues

Just like in 2012, there is another bunch of Facebook privacy issues that have been surfacing on social media again. The truth, they are all hoax!

One of the messages usually says, "In response to the new Facebook guidelines, I hereby declare that my copyright is attached to all of my personal details, illustrations, comics, paintings, professional photos and videos, etc. (as a result of the Berner Convention). For commercial use of the above my written consent is needed at all times!"

Another post Facebook users might see on their newsfeed is: "Now it's official! It has been published in the media. Facebook has just released the entry price: £5.99 to keep the subscription of your status to be set to "private". If you paste this message on your page, it will be offered free (I said paste not share) if not tomorrow, all your posts can become public. Even the messages that have been deleted or the photos not allowed. After all, it does not cost anything for a simple copy and paste. (Not worth risking it!)."

Many users of the social media platform keep on posting the messages, and are all unaware that they are all hoax. The truth is, the "Berner Convention" does not exist, and Facebook does not own their user's media.

However, Andrew Noyes, Facebook's spokesman, clarified Facebook's legal terms. "Under our terms, you grant Facebook permission to use, distribute, and share the things you post, subject to the terms and applicable privacy settings," he said.

Facebook also light-heartedly answered the hoax about their alleged privacy charges via a status. "While there may be water on Mars, don't believe everything you read on the internet today. Facebook is free and it always will be," the post said.

Facebook encourages everyone not to copy and paste the said posts to avoid more confusion.
