'Fallout 4 VR' HTC Vive Bundle Announced
HTC is getting quite generous with their Vive VR headset.
Virtual reality is the future of gaming, and HTC may have realized that one of the best ways for people to get into their VR headsets is if they bring in a big-name game such as "Fallout 4." HTC had earlier dropped the price for their Vive VR headset, and now, the company had recently announced that they would also be offering a free copy of the upcoming "Fallout 4 VR" along with the product.
While HTC has reduced the Vive VR headset to $599 in order to match the Oculus' $600, this may seem a bit too pricey for most people but throwing in a "Fallout 4 VR" in a bundle has certainly made purchasing the product a bit more appealing. Separately, "Fallout 4 VR" will cost about $60.
"Fallout 4 VR is the most anticipated title for VR this holiday, and the game development team at Bethesda Game Studios is delivering on the promise with a full-length AAA open-world game that takes advantage of Vive's incredible room-scale immersion for a mind-blowing experience in the Wasteland," says Vive Studios GM Joel Breton. "The promise of a game with near endless content, including hundreds of locations, characters, and quests, fully playable in VR, is something that we have been focused on providing for the VR gaming community," he added.
HTC's Vive VR headset would come with motion controllers and a couple of VR experiences such as Everest VR, Google's Tilt Brush and Richie's Plank Experience.
However, there is a catch. Since the "Fallout 4 VR" will not be available until it's Dec. 12 release, users would have to wait until this period before they could get this freebie. The "Fallout 4 VR" freebie will come in the form of a redemption code. Buyers would have to be at least 18 years of age to avail the freebie.
For those who have already purchased the Vive VR headset, HTC will give a free three-month subscription to their Viveport shop if they purchase the "Fallout 4 VR."
