'Famous in Love' Season 2 News: Romeo Miller Lands Role on Freeform Drama
"Famous in Love" will introduce a new male character for season 2.
Musician Romeo Miller has joined the Freeform drama, according to reports. The actor, who was previously known for his stage name Lil' Romeo, is on board "Famous in Love" as a recurring cast member. He will be introduced in the season 2 premiere as Pablo $$ (pronounced "Pablo Money"), a famed R&B and hip-hop star. His first episode in the show, titled "The Players," is written by executive producer Marlene King.
Miller first revealed his casting on Instagram earlier this week. He posted a photo of him with his fellow cast members during a table read for the upcoming installment. Further details about Pablo $$ and how he will make his first appearance are still being kept under wraps.
"Pablo is known for his suggestive and confident anthems and undeniable stage presence," Freeform said about Miller's character. "He's the real deal when it comes to talent: a songwriter, producer and perfectionist and his rise to fame was fast and furious."
Having debuted in April, "Famous in Love" follows an ordinary college girl named Page (Bella Thorne), whose life turns upside down when she gets a starring role in a Hollywood blockbuster project. She must deal with her star-studded life, as well as her undeniable chemistry with her two leading men as she discovers the highs and lows of being the town's newest It Girl.
The show was renewed for a second season in August — just two months following its finale. News of the pickup was announced during a Facebook Live session with the entire cast. This renewal keeps King in business with Freeform after the end of her hit mystery drama "Pretty Little Liars."
The second season of "Famous in Love" is expected to premiere next year. Freeform has yet to announce an official release date for the series.
