'Fast and Furious 8' Update: Paul Walker's Brother Not Part Of Film; Explosion Scene To Take Place In Iceland

When Vin Diesel personally announced that there would be an eighth sequel to the long-running franchise film "Fast and Furious," fans were thrilled and ecstatic especially since nobody expected it would return considering the death of one of the main stars, Paul Walker, who played Brian O' Connor.

But even after his tragic death, he still got an appearance in "Fast and Furious 7" with the help of special effects and his brothers, Cody and Caleb Walker, who stood in for Paul during a couple of the scenes in order to finish the movie. That's when rumors of Cody joining the upcoming eighth installment then started surfacing. According to Movie Web, Cody was rumored to appear in "Fast and Furious 8" with his own new character.

However, in a report by Polygon, it said that Universal Pictures has debunked such rumor. "There's no truth behind it," a rep from Universal Pictures told the site. The rumors started after Cody's name was spotted in the IMDB credits for "Fast 8." His name has already been removed from the page though. There was also an interview with the vice chairman of NBC Universal, Ron Meyer, who seemed to have given a hint that Cody would be making an appearance in the next film.

But it's time to give the rumors a rest as Universal itself has confirmed that Cody will not be part of the "Fast and Furious 8."

Meanwhile, Iceland Review detailed that the movie will be filming an explosive scene in Iceland.

The report said that the production's shooting location for "the largest explosion ever in Iceland" will be in the West Iceland town of Akranes, north of Reykjavik. Iceland magazine Visir also said that the mayor, Regina Asvaldsdottir, has confirmed this as well and even shared that the film crew is expected to arrive sometime in April.

"Fast and Furious 8" is scheduled to hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
