'Fate/Apocrypha' Episode 18 Spoilers: A Vengeful Jack the Ripper to Unleash Her True Powers?
Reika Rikudo may not have been Jack the Ripper's intended master, but she has made quite a deep impact on the Assassin of Black's child-like disposition. But now that she's gone and the Assassin of Black is on her own, what new threat has just been awakened on the Japanese action-fantasy anime series, "Fate/Apocrypha"?
The previous episode saw the Ruler, Jeanne d'Arc, and the homunculus, Sieg, acting as decoys in order to lure out the Assassin of Black and stop the string of murders that she and her master has apparently been committing in a town called Trifas, while the Great Holy Grail War was underway.
Reika, it turned out, was not supposed to be Jack's real master. She has no magical talent at all and was originally a prostitute that Jack's supposed master intended to sacrifice while summoning her. Jack ended up killing her supposed master, subsequently transferring master status to Reika, whom she has come to treat as her mother.
However, since Reika did not have magic, Jack has had to kill in order to sustain herself. But despite Jeanne and Sieg's efforts to put an end to this cycle, the Archer of Red's involvement may have just made matters worse after Reika ended up dead in the confrontation.
And since the dying Reika has chosen to use her two command spells to ensure that Jack will be all right even after she's gone, not even the Archer of Red's best arrow could take the now vengeful servant, who seems to have just turned the time back to Victorian London.
How will Jeanne and Sieg battle Jack now that she has returned to her turf and has just become even more merciless following her master's death? Will they still be able to calm Jack's vengeful anger and persuade the now master-less Assassin of Black to their side? Or has all hope just vanished and the only option left to them now is to end Jack's life?
"Fate/Apocrypha" airs on Saturdays at midnight JST on Tokyo MX, BS 11, Gumma TV and Togi TV. It also airs on Tuesdays late night at 3:30 a.m. on MBS and becomes available for streaming on Mondays on Netflix.
