Fergie Reveals Why She and Josh Went Public With Their Split
Fergie and Josh Duhamel broke up months before they announced their separation, and now, the pop singer is finally speaking out.
In an exclusive interview with People magazine, Fergie, whose real name is Stacey Ann Ferguson, revealed why they finally decided to announce their separation. The reason was that she and Josh were getting weirded about all the romantic questions about them. "Honestly, it was just getting a little weird for us with all the romantic questions," she confessed.
"We're great friends, we love each other so much, and it just got to the point where it was getting a little weird," Fergie added. "There's no perfect time, so we just decided to do it," she went on to say.
The couple had reportedly split back in February after eight years of marriage but decided to withhold the information to give time for their family to adjust to their new situation. Fergie and Duhamel share a 4-year-old son together, Axl. But now that the couple had finally gone public with their separation, many are wondering if this was done so that Fergie could devote more of her time promoting her new album "Double Dutchess."
Thankfully for the two, it seems like they parted on good terms as they have committed to raising their son together as co-parents. In fact, the singer even admitted how much fun she was having during her son's school's co-op program where she and Josh both attend.
"We have fun, we get down and dirty and read the stories with our costumes. You get down in the sand and get dirty — I love it. I love that part of it all," she shares.
Regarding their split, several sources claim that both Fergie and Josh had been living different lives for quite some time before they separated, and somehow, the difference eventually caught up with them.
