"We defined the fitness tracker market 10 years ago and look forward to doing the same with the smartwatch category, delivering what consumers want most and have not yet seen in a smartwatch," James Park, co-founder and CEO of Fitbit said. "Ionic offers up to 5 days battery life for 24/7 health tracking and insights, advanced health and fitness features, enhanced heart rate and dynamic sleep tools paired with the smart functionality consumers need on the go to stay in touch and simplify their life."

The device comes in three color combinations: silver grey tracker and clasp with a blue-grey band, smoke grey tracker and clasp with a charcoal band, and burnt orange tracker and clasp with slate blue bland.

Other accessories will also be made available. The Classic and Sports bands will cost $29.95 while hand-crafter Horween leather bands are priced at $59.95.

The company also announced that they will be launching Ionic along with the company's first wireless headphones, the Fitbit Flyer, which cost $129.95. The device will have two color variants: nightfall blue and lunar grey.

Flyer comes with a sweatproof design. Consumers will not only get to listen to music from Ionic, they will also be able to access audio coaching from the Fitbit Coach smartphone app, and they can maintain communication while on the go.

Wearable gave Ionic a 3.5 out of 5 scores because its software has a few kinks that should be straightened out over the coming days.
