Floyd Mayweather May Fight Against Amir Khan or Manny Pacquiao Next, Says Floyd's Uncle

The much awaited bout between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao has been in the airwaves for years now and fans of either parties are wondering if the fight is ever going to happen. Pacquiao is set to fight against Chris Algieri on Nov. 22 and Mayweather still has two more bouts in his six-fight contract with Showtime, which he plans to retire afterwards.

Pacquiao has been more than willing to fight Mayweather but the latter has not shown any interest in fighting the People's Champion.

Recently, legendary boxer Sugar Ray Leonard has spoken out about his thoughts on the possibility of the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight. Leonard says that above all else, it would be principle that is now pushing the dial of demand for a bout between the two fighters.

"It's more than just the money, because the money will be there. It's the legacy," Leonard said Sunday during an interview with Fox 11 Los Angeles.

"They should fight. Now they're leaning more towards Mayweather. Because at first it was 'We don't know who's going to win the fight' – like Tommy Hearns and I, like Hagler and I, like Duran and I," he added.

Meanwhile, Floyd's uncle Jeff mayweather has declared that his nephew will fight either British boxer Amir Khan or – finally – Manny Pacquio. Still, nothing is final but the possibility of either fight is there considering the projected pay-per-view revenue of either fight.

"To be honest, I can't really say who it is because I'm not one hundred percent sure. If they do it by names – which Floyd normally does – it may actually help the pay-per-view revenue, it's gonna possibly be Khan or maybe Pacquio next for Floyd, because there's no other options out there in the weight class that make any sense," the older Mayweather said.
