Floyd Mayweather News: Adrien Broner Says He And 'Money May' Still Have Love For Each Other
Undefeated retired boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. remains to be the guiding light to four-division welterweight champion Adrien Broner, despite the rift between both men.
Broner, who is also considered as "Money May's" own "little brother," had been involved in a back-and-forth verbal tirade with him for months now. Multiple reports claim it all began when "The Problem" went on to attack the entire "Money Team".
"I f*** with Floyd," Broner said in a video post. "Other than that, it's about billions."
It did not take long before Mayweather to respond. First, he noted how he has been supportive of Broner, particularly when the latter lost to Marcos Maidana in 2013.
Mayweather added that he did not understand where Broner's tirades against the Money Team were coming from, especially because a picture of him wearing a "TMT" shirt was posted on the Money Team website.
"Instead of saying, 'F*** The Money Team,' he needs to be thanking The Money Team because, at the end of the day, Al Haymon is a part of The Money Team," Mayweather said. "Everything is under the same umbrella when it's all said and done."
But in an odd twist of events, Broner seemed to have had a change of heart about his "big brother."
In a report by Boxingscene, he now says the rift between him and Mayweather is non-existent. Broner adds that Floyd Jr. remains to be "one of his mentors", and that quarrels between "family" is a natural occurrence.
"At the end of the day, I still love him, he still love me [sic], and I still got his support," Broner said.
Broner, 31-2, with one no contest and with 23 victories by knockout, last fought in October against Khabib Allakhverdiev, where he won by 12th round TKO, bagging the then vacant WBA 140-pound title in the process. He is now slated to face British fighter Ashley Theophane in February.
