'Food Wars! The Third Plate' Anime Spoilers: Upcoming Episode to Introduce Yet Another Nakiri?

It may have taken a while, but Yukihira Souma has finally found his footing in his ongoing match against Terunori Kuga. Will he be able to keep this up on the fifth and final day of the 92nd Moon Festival on the Japanese anime series, "Food Wars! The Third Plate"?

The Central Area has been bustling with people wanting to try Kuga's Sichuan cuisine in the first four days of the festival. But while the sight of this had done nothing for Yukihira's lowly stall, except to make it even more insignificant, the cooking genius has managed to turn the tables around by the fourth day as a result of his keen observation skills and the years he has spent helping out at their diner.

Yukihira took advantage of the weekend rush by introducing a new dish that mixed mapo tofu with the homey and familiar taste of curry in a dish he dubbed, Countdown Mapo Curry Noodles. With this new dish and Megumi Tadokoro's good customer service, they have managed to bring half of the line outside Kuga's restaurant over to their side.

They also got some much-needed assistance from Subaru Mimasaka, Ikumi Mito, and the twins, Takumi and Isami Aldini, which in turn helped them snag first place at the end of the day tally.

But the fifth and final day is about to begin, and Kuga seems like the kind of guy who cannot handle defeat all that well. What kind of counterattack will he be cooking up in order to bring Yukihira to his knees once and for all?

Also, it seems that a new character is dropping by to check the festival out. In the 46th issue of this year's "Weekly Shounen Jump" magazine, it has reportedly been announced that Erina Nakiri's father, Azami Nakiri, is set to appear in the upcoming fifth episode.

Azami is an alumnus of the Totsuki Culinary Teahouse Academy and will be voiced by Sho Hayami who previously worked on "Assassination Classroom," "Bleach," and "Gintama."

"Food Wars! The Third Plate" airs on Tuesdays late night at 12:30 a.m. JST on Tokyo MX, Wednesdays at midnight JST on BS11, and Fridays at midnight JST on Animax. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes are also streamed in selected regions outside Japan via Crunchyroll.
