Free PlayStation Games March 2017 News, Details: PS Plus Members Can Now Get 'Disc Jam' and 'Tearaway Unfolded' Among Others
PlayStation updated its PlayStation Store on Tuesday, March 7 to add to it the free games lineup of the month for PlayStation Plus members. The update is the first to be rolled out for March.
PlayStation 4 owners get the newly released "Disc Jam" as well as "Lumo" and "Tearaway Unfolded," while PS3 owners get "Earth Defense Force 2025" and "Under Night: In Birth." PS Vita owners can only get "Lumo" and "Severed."
"Disc Jam" is a new arcade game that features the unique gameplay of a sport that is a combination of air hockey and tennis. It supports online play and can also be played through friendly competitions.
"Tearaway Unfolded," however, is a third-person platform game that is best played with a DualShock 4. Most of the other games, such as "Severed" and "Earth Defense Force 2025," are also action-adventure games that involve several missions and quests.
"Severed" lets players take on the role of a warrior named Sasha who goes through a mission to find her family. "Earth Defense Force 2025," however, tasks players to defeat a horde of aliens and insects that are discovered underground years after an invasion took place.
The new list of free games are now available for download from the PlayStation Store up until the end of this month.
Sony updates its free games lineup for PlayStation Plus members every month. For those who are interested in becoming a member, the monthly membership fee is priced at $9.99, while a year's worth of membership would cost $49.99.
The lineup of free PS Plus games last February included titles such as "LittleBigPlanet 3," "Starwhal" and "Not a Hero."
Some players have noted that most of PS Plus's free games are low-profile or indie games that were released without much fanfare. However, it is a great way to discover very good and entertaining games without spending a large amount of cash to enjoy them.
