Fuller House Season 2 Spoilers and Updates: No Olsen Twins, But a Very Special Boyband is Coming to Visit

Netflix's family sitcom series "Fuller House" smashed its first season with nostalgic references and hidden-gem throwbacks to the original '90s "Full House" show. Much of the old material made it into the sequel, with most of the original cast members, so it's no surprise that it became an instant hit among fans.

Now, it seems like the Tanner family is up for more shenanigans in Season 2. Guest stars will appear on the show for more #throwback, like beloved '90s original boy band New Kid on the Block!

When to expect them

According to a report from TV Guide, Kimmy (Andrea Barber) and Stephanie (Jodie Sweetin) attempt to get them to perform at D.J.'s (Candace Cameron Burre) birthday after thoroughly messing it up.

This comes as no surprise, however, as the Tanner family is known to be a great lover of music and music acts have come to be an essential part of the popular sitcom. This is, in many ways, a homage to the original series, which brought on the Beach Boys during their heyday. But with a new audience watching, the '90s band strikes the perfect middle chord for both generations.

Will the Olsen twins make it to the series?

Of course, no diehard fan of the series could ever forget the Olsen twins who played the lovable Michelle Tanner in the original series. Rumors circulated that they might be back for Season 2, but the showrunners shot down the idea before it sprouted hope.

In an interview with Howard Stern, Jodie Sweetin and John Stamos said that they have given up on the two to come back on the show.

It's not that they don't want to do it, they clarified, but the Olsen twins have been away from acting for so long, they do not consider themselves as "actresses" anymore.

That's sad news for those who were hoping to hear from Michelle, who brought us the sassiest lines in the original series that became one of the most iconic catchphrases. Remember "Duh?" "Oh please?" and "You got it, dude?"

Show creator Jeff Franklin, however, said that they will continue to hold the door open for the twins should they decide to come back.

The series is currently filming right now and there's no premiere date set yet, but the cast and crew had already teased out some Thanksgiving photos to tide us over the wait.
