A report from Radar Online detailed that the producers of the show pushed Porsha Williams and Kenya Moore to bring some thrill into their love lives so that they could stay in the show. They needed to have a man or else they could expect not to come back on it or be turned into a friend of the housewives.

The source also stated that the constant fighting has been the show's secret in getting more viewers. The new executive producer, Carlos King, is said to be fond of promoting fighting.
