'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Spoilers: Leaked Footage of 'Game of Thrones' Provides a Sneak Peek of Season 6
Just recently, a video has been leaked showing the filming of "Games of Thrones" season 6 at the Castillo de Zafra in Spain. Fans were treated with what appears to be a sword fight scene from the upcoming season of the hit HBO series.
The video quality is blurry, and was shot from a very far spot using a smartphone. The footage was first reported last Sept. 29 on Los Siete Reino, a Spanish fan site, and it features two men who appear to be fighting, and a woman who is witnessing the fight.
According to Winter is Coming, another "Game of Thrones" fan website, the two men fighting are Ned Stark and Arthur Dayne, while the woman is Lyanna, Ned's sister. The fan site also said that the face-off between the two took place outside the Tower of Joy.
"Game of Thrones" casting calls included the "Legendary Fighter," who carries a hugely famous sword on his back," according to The Huffington Post. Many fans have speculated that this character is no other than Ser Arthur Dayne, who is a member of the Kingsguard of King Aerys.
The website also made the connection between the scene that is being filmed and Ned Stark's story, which was in the book "A Game of Thrones."
According to the report, Ned Stark tells about the story of a battle at the Tower of Joy. This is where his sister, Lyanna, was being held captive, after she was abducted by Prince Rhaegar Targaryen. Ned arrived at the tower, but had to face off with three Kingsguard members, which include the alleged "Legendary Fighter," Ser Arthur Dayne.
Five of Ned's party members were killed during the battle, but Ned was rescued by Howland Reed. When the two entered the Tower of Joy, they both found the dying Lyanna in a bed full of blood.
Lyanna made Ned promise something before she died, but Ned never revealed what that promise is. Fans believed that the secret is about Jon Snow being the son of Lyanna and Prince Rhaegar. However, these are all just fan theories, so viewers still have to watch out for the new season of "Game of Thrones" to be back next year.
