'Game Of Thrones' Season 6 Spoilers: Latest Teasers Reveal Tattered Banners Of The Great Houses
HBO has just released three new teasers for the forthcoming sixth season of its popular fantasy drama series "Game of Thrones," which is expected to make its much-anticipated return in April. Following the long-running guessing game on the fate of Night's Watch Lord Commander Jon Snow (Kit Harington) and the return of his half-brother Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), the network now shifts fans' attentions to the coming battles that will be waged by and against three of the great houses of Westeros: House Stark, House Lannister, and House Targaryen.
In one of the teasers, lightning cracks against the snowy mountains of the North as the tattered banner of House Stark, with its lone wolf on a white field, flaps in the wind in the foreground. "Winterfell is mine," the raspy voice of Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon) taunts. "Come and see," the sadistic son of Roose Bolton (Michael McElhatton) invites.
In another promo clip, the tattered crimson banner of House Lannister floats against the rising sun of King's Landing. "Every one of us is poor and powerless," the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce) laments. "And yet, together," he says, his voice becoming steadily steelier, "we can overthrow an empire." In the background, the rhythmic chanting of "shame, shame, shame" from Cersei's (Lena Headey) walk of atonement in Season 5, can be heard.
In the third teaser, the ruined black banner of House Targaryen, with its lone red dragon, hangs almost lifelessly amidst a landscape filled with smoke and fire. "You are nobody, the millionth of your name," a Dothraki warrior warns. "Queen of nothing," the voice barks out.
Judging from these three new teasers, it looks like Houses Stark, Lannister, and Targaryen will be facing some tough battles in the sixth season of "Game of Thrones."
Find out how each of these great houses fare when "Game of Thrones" Season 6 premieres on April 24 on HBO.
