Garden Gnome Find: Woman Discovers Mysterious Hidden Statue Inside Lawn Ornament (PHOTO)

A garden gnome find surprised a Pulaski, Tennessee woman after she accidentally broke her latest garden statue. Heather Andrews, 27, was given the garden gnome by a friend only to discover a smaller, mysterious and possibly religious statue inside.

The garden gnome find wouldn't have happened without Jillian Pozzi, Andrews' friend who gave her the gift. It was the third such gag gift she had given her friend, but this time, Andrews accidentally broke it and revealed the statue inside.

"Opened the door, and it dropped, fell. I went to pick up the pieces and I noticed something inside of it," Andrews told WSMV.

The figurine inside was somehow fused to both the top and bottom of the broken gnome statue. The mystery as to who placed it there has sparked speculation coming from all over. Some believe it's the face of Jesus with the body of a woman, while others think it's a religious angel.

I think "that the face has really intricate detail and someone spent a lot of time on the face" Andrews explained. "The anatomy on the body looks feminine to me, but I don't know. I'm just biased to it, I guess."

The gnome was purchased at Target and made in China, just like her friend Pozzi's last two gifts. The women decided to crack open the other gnomes to see if surprise statuettes were inside, but had no such luck. Target themselves couldn't reveal much about the mystery either.

"We do not have enough information to speak to this specific situation, but we encourage the individual to contact guest relations for additional assistance if they have questions or concerns Target may be able to answer," the retailer said.

While Andrews said some of her friends have been "creeped out" by the strange statue within a statue, she finds it endearing, and has named it "Pete." Currently, Pete has his own Facebook page with thousands of friends, fans and followers.
