Georgina Chapman Ends 10-Year Marriage With Accused Producer Harvey Weinstein

Georgina Chapman has confirmed her separation from Harvey Weinstein.

The Marchesa designer's announcement comes as more women continue to speak up about the sexual harassment and assault they experienced from Weinstein.

"My heart breaks for all the women who have suffered tremendous pain because of these unforgivable actions," Chapman told PEOPLE. "I have chosen to leave my husband. Caring for my young children is my first priority and I ask the media for privacy at this time."

Weinstein and Chapman tied the knot in 2007 and they share two children, ages 4 and 7. The movie mogul also has three children from a previous relationship. Following Chapman's statement, Weinstein said he supports his wife's decision. He also mentioned that he hopes they can "rebuild" their family once he gets "better."

The scandal surrounding Weinstein has made him the focus of media outlets these past few days. Once the dust has settled, Chapman will return to her career as co-founder and designer of the popular fashion brand Marchesa.

According to The Guardian, the said label is a well-known powerhouse — claiming to be the most worn brand on the red carpet in the previous year. Famous personalities who wore Marchesa outfits include Heidi Klum, Katy Perry, supermodel Karolína Kurková, Blake Lively and more. As Marchesa continues to become more visible at movie premieres, many suspect the scandal involving Weinstein will affect the image of Chapman's brand.

Meanwhile, Weinstein was recently spotted heading to Arizona for treatment. Days after The New York Times first published the shocking story about Weinstein's long history of alleged sexual misconduct, TMZ reports the producer left Los Angeles to get treated at an inpatient program. The news was revealed shortly after Chapman revealed their separation.
