'Gintama: Porori-hen' Episode 6 Spoilers: Series to Adapt the 'Excalibur Arc' Next

The Japanese action-comedy anime series "Gintama: Porori-hen" continues with the animated adaptation of the "Excalibur Arc," which will also bring the swordsmith, Tetsuko Murata, back on air.

As teased in the preview for the next episode titled "3000 Leagues in Search of a Scabbard," the Odd Jobs trio will be dropping by at Tetstuko's smithy, wherein Gintoki will get into a complication with a talking sword.

Tetsuko is a swordsmith who resides in Edo. She is the daughter of Jintetsu and the younger sister of Tetsuya, both of whom were renowned swordsmiths themselves when they were still alive. Gintoki first met her during the "Benizakura Arc," during which she saved the series' protagonist from the blind assassin, Nizou Okada. She has since helped the Odd Jobs crew on several occasions.

On the other hand, the "Excalibur Arc" begins with a visit to Tetsuko's shop with the intention of getting Otose's husband's sword resharpened to commemorate his death anniversary.

However, things will quickly become complicated when they stumble upon a sword Amanto who will ask for their assistance in searching for his scabbard wife. And since Gintoki fails to treat the sword kindly, the said sword will stick itself to his rear end.

The arc will also feature Sougo Okita as a main protagonist for the first and last time, and it will also mark the first time that he and Gintoki engage in an intense swordfight.

Additionally, a serial killer also gets thrown into the mix as the owner and wielder of the most powerful and dangerous sword.

Will Gintoki be able to complete this mission and thus free himself from the sword that has stuck itself to his behind?

"Gintama: Porori-hen" airs on Sundays late night at 1:35 a.m. on TV Tokyo, TV Hokkaido, TV Aichi, TV Setouchi, and TVQ Kyushu Broadcasting. Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site. Episodes will also be simulcast in selected regions outside Japan via Crunchyroll.
