Gionee P5W Available Now in India, Comes in Five Color Variants, 1 GB of RAM and 5MP Camera

Chinese mobile phone manufacturer Gionee has finally launched its P5W model in India. According to a report by Tech 2, the device is now available for sale in India with a price tag of only Rs 6,499. What makes this smartphone unique on its own is that interested buyers can choose from the five available color options.

They can either pick Black, Blue, Red, White or Yellow, depending on their preference. Gadgets 360 also detailed that the budget device is part of the company's Pioneer-series smartphone. With regards to the specs, the P5W comes with a 5-inch HD IPS Oncell display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution. A 1.5GHz octa-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC can be found under the hood along with 1 GB of RAM. It is pre-installed with 16 GB of built-in storage and it can be further expanded up to 128 GB via microSD card.

The Indian Express noted that the device offers dual-SIM support and runs with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system with Amigo 3.1 on top. As for the camera specs, the device features a 5-megapixel autofocus rear camera with LED flash and a 2-megapixel front camera. Deccan Chronicle detailed that users can enjoy the all-new Beautification option that is incorporated in the device which also comes with filters, panorama feature and mood cards that will describe the mood of the user.

Additionally, the smartphone is 143.3 x 72 x 8.9mm and weighs 153 grams. It is also packed with connectivity options that include 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and Micro-USB 2.0. The P5W is also built with the DTS 3D surround sound tech for quality sound experience and a face unlock feature which is the AMI lock.

Timir Baran Acharyya, GM, Gionee India said, "The idea behind introducing P5W has been the youth and their fascination towards carrying bright colorful phones." He also said, "Aiming specifically at the youth of the country, we are sure that the device would gauge tremendous interest as like its predecessors."
