'Girl Meets World' Season 4 News and Air Date: Is The Disney Sitcom Cancelled Because of Rowan Blanchard & Sabrina Carpenter's Sour Relationship Off-Cam?
Disney Channel has confirmed last week that the Season 4 of "Girl Meets World" remains unsure. Along with the uncertainty of the show's future, rumors have spread that the hit sitcom will be axed because of the ugly rift between two of its major stars, Rowan Blanchard (Riley Matthews) and Sabrina Carpenter (Maya Hart).
Blanchard Allegedly Dislikes Carpenter
Teen Vogue reports that rumors have been circulating on Twitter, accusing Blanchard of being mean to her co-workers, especially to her on-cam best friend Carpenter. The young actress' foul attitude towards her cast mates is allegedly one of the main reasons why the coming-of-age sitcom was not renewed by Disney Channel.
The rumors, according to the online magazine, started from certain Twitter users who claimed that Blanchard called Carpenter "fat" several times. The lead star of the sitcom was also accused of trying to make Carpenter feel bad about her real-life boyfriend.
Blanchard Squashed Rumors
Blanchard took to Twitter to shut down the nasty rumors about her sour off-cam relationship with Carpenter. The 14-year-old actress shared that she was upset about the offensive allegations against her and even admitted that she cried about it.
"Of course, none of that is true, but that doesn't mean it doesn't hurt," Blanchard posted. She added that she would never fake a friendship and the thought of it makes her sick.
Blanchard disclosed that she and other cast members were having a hard time this week because they are wrapping up Season 3 and it could be their last shooting week together. She reiterated that she shared a genuine friendship with her "Girl Meets World" co-stars and they will remain friends even after the show.
Carpenter Proved She & Blanchard Are Friends
Carpenter did not directly address the rumors about her off-cam rift with Blanchard. However, the 17-year-old actress showed her support to her co-star by sharing a sweet photo of her and Blanchard on Twitter after the latter aired her side on the issue.
Christian Post reported earlier that the "Girl Meets World" Season 3 episodes will be aired on Disney Channel until 2017. There is still no confirmation if the hit sitcom will be renewed for its fourth season.
While the fate of the show's fourth season remains unclear, fans can look forward to the remaining episodes of the third season. Majority of the cast of "Boy Meets World," the prequel of "Girl Meets World," will be reunited in one of the future episodes of Season 3.
