'Girls' Last Tour' Episode 5 Spoilers: What Is Beyond the Bright Lights?
Chito and Yuuri have finally found the source of the bright light they saw on the horizon after meeting their fellow traveler and map maker, Kanazawa, what new adventures await them as they continue their exploration of an almost empty world on the Japanese slice-of-life anime series, "Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou (Girls' Last Tour)"?
The previous episode saw the traveling pair — Chito and Yuuri — making good use of the camera that Kanazawa has left with them, taking photos of the sights, of each other, and even one of them together after Chito learned how to use the camera timer.
Apart from this, the girls have also managed to reach the source of the bright light on the horizon, which turned out to be a temple built for a certain god. And while the girls did not at all understand the significance of building a fake pond with fish they couldn't eat, the significance of the place in representing how the people of the past viewed the afterlife struck them deep.
While they believed that the afterlife was a dark world, seeing the brightly lit temple and all the statues leading up to it made them think that these were created in order to put the people of the past at ease with a better view of how the afterlife would look like.
On the other hand, this talk after the afterlife has made some fans worried about where the series could possibly lead in the end. The world is already empty, and the girls have more than once had trouble finding food in their journey. What if food becomes completely unattainable and the two girls are left starving in one particularly empty city, counting down the hours of their lives? Can seemingly endless positivity sustain them?
Then again, won't this very positivity be enough of an assurance that they will always find something to appease their hunger wherever it is that their trusty Kettenkrad will take them next?
