'Glee' Season 6 Air Date, Cast Spoilers: Premiere Episode Plot Synopsis, New Characters Revealed
The season premiere of "Glee" is only a few days away, and Fox has released the official synopsis of season 6's premiere episode which tells what the Glee kids will be up to when the show returns.
The synopsis reads:
"After Rachel's humiliating failure as a TV actress, she comes home to Lima to figure out what she wants to do next. Upon discovering that Sue has banished the arts at McKinley, Rachel takes it upon herself to reinstate and lead the Glee Club. Meanwhile, Blaine, no longer in a relationship with Kurt, has moved home to coached the Warblers while Will is coaching rival Vocal Adrenaline, and Sam is the assistant coach for the McKinley football team. Then Puck, Quinn, Santana, Mercedes, Brittany, Artie, and Tina all return to McKinley for Homecoming and help Rachel and Kurt recruit for the new Glee club."
Meanwhile, TVLine has gotten more information about the new recruits who will be joining the Glee Club.
Noah Guthrie, 20, who rose to fame on YoutTube and performed on the last season of "Dancing With the Stars," will be playing Roderick, described as "chubby and shy with the voice of Otis Redding."
Marshall Williams, 25, will be playing the role of football star Spencer. Williams competed in "Canadian Idol" in 2007 and 2008, then starred in Disney's "How to Build a Better Boy."
Billy Lewis Jr. will play Mason, while Laura Dreyfuss will play Madison, a new Cheerio who is as optimistic as her brother Mason. Rounding out the cast of newbies is Samantha Ware who will play Jane, described as an "ambitious, unconventionally pretty gal."
Meanwhile, Ken Jeong and Jennifer Coolidge will guest star in "Glee" will be playing Brittany's (Heather Morris) parents.
"Glee" season 6 returns with a 2-hour premiere on Jan. 9 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
