Google Nexus 6 Review: Specs and Features Overview
With every Nexus device, Google teams up with a selected manufacturer to produce one-of-a-kind gadgets. Google's collaboration with LG birthed the Nexus 4 and Nexus 5, and now, its partnership with Motorola gives us the Nexus 6, a powerful 6-inch phablet which runs on the latest Android software and can compete head to head with the iPhone 6 Plus.
Here we take a look at what the Google Nexus 6 is like:
Design:
The phablet echoes the Moto X's design and has an aluminum metal frame and a curved back. It measures 6.27 x 3.15 inches. As for its width, because it's sloped, the thicker hump measures 0.39 inches while the thinnest part of the phone measures 0.15 inches. It weighs 6.49 ounces, and its heft and size might make it difficult to squeeze into a pocket. Nevertheless, the phablet is comfortable to hold thanks to its smooth curve.
The Nexus 6 is available in two colors—Cloud White and Midnight Blue.
Features:
The 6-inch AMOLED display is water resistant and has a layer of Corning Gorilla Glass 3 to protect it. The screen has a resolution of 1440 x 2560, with 493 pixels on each inch of the display.
The device is powered by a 2.7Ghz Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 quad core processor that has an Adreno 420 GPU. It has 3GB of RAM and storage comes in either 32GB or 64GB. It runs on the Android Lollipop, and the OS can run multiple apps. It can also support voice searches when one says the "OK Google" prompt.
The rear-facing 13 MP camera has an optical image stabilization feature and can record 4K video at 30fps. The 2.1 MP front camera takes decent, if not great selfies.
The Nexus 6 comes with a Turbo Charger, which can add six additional hours of battery life in just 15 minutes.
