'Grey's Anatomy' Season 12 Winter Premiere To Be Directed By Denzel Washington
"Grey's Anatomy" season 12 is currently on break for the winter, and fans are excited to see how the show will pick up after its explosive midseason finale last week. It was revealed weeks ago that the upcoming winter premiere will be directed by actor/director, Denzel Washington.
According to TV Line, the Oscar Winner will direct the episode titled "The Sound of Silence," which is the ninth episode of "Grey's Anatomy" season 12. The website said this will be Washington's first time to direct for television, but he already directed two films before, "Antwone Fisher" and "The Great Debaters."
Sarah Drew, the actress who plays Dr. April Kepner in the show, also posted a photo of the front page of their script for the winter premiere on her Instagram account, and it shows Washington's name as the director and Stacy McKee as the writer.
Meanwhile, according to Carter Matt, there are three things that might be happening on "Grey's Anatomy" once it's back this February. The show might show the fans that Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) might finally stay sober, and also an update regarding the status of Jackson (Jesse Williams) and April's relationship, who since the former is now thinking of filing divorce. Viewers might also be treated with an update with Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Alex's (Justin Chambers) engagement.
International Business Times also posted a few spoilers in the upcoming second-half of the season. The website said that the show may still continue to tackle the fight between Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) and Amelia in the winter premiere, since the last that the two were seen is when Meredith asked Amelia to leave their house. Fans are curious if the two can resolve their issue once the series picks up next year.
"Grey's Anatomy" will resume its 12th season next year on Feb. 11 on ABC.
