'Half-Life 3' Release Date Rumors: Game Confirmed and Coming Out This Year?

There is a lot of tension recently online among gamers and fans of "Half-Life" as an anonymous user on Pastebin claimed on Monday that "Half-Life 3" is currently under development and will possibly be released this year.

It should be noted that the developer, Valve, has not confirmed anything that the Internet has leaked so far, and after the release of "Half-Life: Episode 2," the company has been mum, or at least drawn away from the public.

With the title "HL3 Legit Sh**t," the user explained that "Half-Life 2: Episode 3" is totally not happening since the said project has been transformed into a "full-fledged title confirmed to be Half-Life 3."

The post is chock-full of information about the alleged game, and the user claimed that fans will discover sometime soon that everything written in the post is true.

While the alleged insider admitted that he still has no idea regarding the story, he said players will now be able to control the game's pacing and interact with everything in the game since there are no more cut scenes to be experienced.

However, one of the more doubtful claims that the user claimed is that the upcoming title won't feature virtual reality. The Mirror reminds fans that Valve collaborated with HTC recently to come up with the HTC VIVE VR headset, which means an upcoming game from the developer will certainly sport VR.

Finally, the author made the biggest claim that some fans chewed on: The game will possibly come out before the year ends. The fact that Valve has not said anything about a third title in the "Half-Life" franchise may make the claim unlikely, especially since usually, game developers would release a trailer years before a game is scheduled for release.

Meanwhile, players are divided over the authenticity of the post, with some noting that the author did the right thing in exposing information that Valve has been keeping from people who are obviously interested in "Half-Life 3."

Until Valve confirms the claims, fans can be at peace with the idea that the leaked information — if true — will hopefully force the developer to create the game and release it in time before another anonymous author posts details about the highly anticipated title.
