'Han Solo' Movie News: Younger Han Solo and Harrison Ford Talks About Character's Death

Even though the most recently-released installment of the "Star Wars" saga saw the death of the iconic character Han Solo, fans will still get a chance to see the beloved character in the big screens.

It was revealed that Disney's CEO Bob Iger shared some exciting details about the future of the "Star Wars" franchise. During the Deutsche Bank 2016 Media, Internet & Telecom Conference, Iger revealed some information about the upcoming projects of the "Star Wars" franchise.

According to The Wrap, he explained that there is a new film currently in the works. The upcoming film will focus on the origin story of Han Solo and Chewie and will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller. However, the president of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, explained that the upcoming film will introduce a young version of Han Solo.

While there has yet to be any announcement regarding who will take on the role of Han Solo in the upcoming movie, fans have been offering their own theories on who could be picked to portray the character. Some of the actors mentioned are Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco, and even Blake Jenner.

While there has yet to be any confirmation regarding the matter, it is expected that the film will be appear in theatres after the "Star Wars Episode 8." Iger also teased that fans can expect to see more of Han Solo after the release of the upcoming film.

Nevertheless, fans will still miss Harrison Ford's portrayal of Han Solo. As reported by TIME, Harrison was able to share his sentiments about his character's death during "Star Wars: The Force Awakens."

"His destiny is resolved in a powerful and effective way. I wanted Han Solo to be able to lend some significant emotional weight to the story," said Ford.
