Harrison Ford News: 'Star Wars' Actor Reluctantly Addresses Carrie Fisher's Romance Revelation

Almost a year after the late Carrie Fisher revealed that she and fellow "Star Wars" star Harrison Ford developed a romantic affair while filming "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" more than 40 years ago, the original Han Solo actor has finally sort of addressed the issue.

To recall, it was in November last year, just a month prior to her shocking death, when Fisher revealed in an interview that she and Ford actually had an affair while filming their first "Star Wars" movie in 1976. According to Fisher, she was 19 when Ford, 33 years old then, married and with two children, got involved in a whirlwind romance that lasted for three months while shooting the said movie, which was later renamed as "Star Wars Episode 4 - A New Hope."

"It was so intense. It was Han and Leia during the week, and Carrie and Harrison during the weekend," Fisher told People magazine in line with the promotion of her book, "The Princess Diarist," in November last year.

Almost a year after Fisher's revelation, Ford was recently asked to comment on the issue that shocked many of the "Star Wars" fans last year. While promoting his upcoming movie, "Blade Runner 2049," Ford was asked about his long-kept relationship with Carrie, which somehow became an awkward exchange of question and answer.

While Ford answered the questions asked about Fisher, he managed to evade giving answers that would have fed the fancy of "Star Wars" fans, thanks to his terse and witty answers. When asked how strange it was for him that Fisher wrote her own "Star Wars" book, Ford simply answered "It was strange for me." When the interviewer asked if it was okay to ask him it would have been better for the book not to have been published at all, he said yes, only to say no when asked if he would answer the question.

According to Ford, though, Fisher had informed him to a certain extent that she was coming out with a book. However, he refused to reveal how he felt upon learning about it.

"Oh, I don't know. I don't know. You know, with Carrie's untimely passing, I don't really feel that it's a subject that I want to discuss," Ford said.
