'Hitman 6' Gets New Release Date in 2016
The action-adventure stealth video game, "Hitman 6" finally has a new release date. The game was originally scheduled for release in December 2015, but its developer, IO Interactive, opted to delay release in order for them to add more content to the game. According to a report in IGN, the game's publisher Square Enix and developer IO Interactive have announced that the game will be available on March 11, 2016 on all platforms.
The report also cited the "release plan" that Square Enix and IO Interactive had set up for the game, which they described as "a live game experience that delivers content over time, supported by live events." It is also important to note that any additional content for the game need not be purchased and the game will also not make use of micro-transactions.
When the game is launched on March 11, it will include what is called the base content of the game. This includes six campaign missions in three locations, namely Paris, Sapienza and Marrakesh. There will be 800 targets for the player to choose from in the Contract mode. Upon launch, live content will be made available which includes "time-limited targets, weekly Contracts and promoted created content."

Every month after launch, new content in the form of new locations will be added. In the line up are Thailand (April), U.S.A. (May), and Japan (June). These new maps will be accompanied by "new missions, signature kills and Contracts targets."
For $35, gamers can get the Intro Pack which gives access to all the content available in March. Subsequent updates can be purchased by buying an extra pack for $30. Full access will be cheaper at $60.
"Hitman 6" is the game's tentative, working title. It is the sixth installment in the "Hitman" video game franchise. Players get to play a trained assassin called Agent 47, as he tries to accomplish his missions in different locations across the world.
