Holly Holm Vs. Ronda Rousey Fight News: Holm Gives Update On Potential Rematch
UFC bantamweight queen Holly Holm recently gave an update regarding her rematch with former champion Ronda Rousey.
A full month has already passed since Holm knocked out Rousey in the second round of their main event fight at UFC 193 in Melbourne, Australia. Right after the bout, during the post-fight press conference, both Holm and White agreed that "Rowdy" deserves an immediate rematch.
What served to be a problem for the said situation was that Rousey could potentially be serving a medical suspension that will put her out of action until July.
In a recent report by Bloody Elbow, Holm was interviewed by Submission Radio to know what her next steps would be. As far as the rematch against Rousey goes, "The Preacher's Daughter" says nothing has been made final yet. Holm adds that she is willing to face whomever the UFC puts in front of her.
Recently, former two-time title contender Miesha Tate joined in on the mix as Holm's next possible opponent. "Whatever happens, we'll see how the cards unfold," Holm's said, according to the report. "I mean, we're sitting here today because I just took whatever opportunity was in front of me."
A former 18-time world champion professional boxer, it only took Holm three fights in the UFC before winning the much-coveted 135-pound title. She currently holds an unblemished professional mixed martial arts record of 10-0, with seven victories by stoppage.
Holm's made her UFC debut early this year, with a decision win against Raquel Pennington. For 2016, the Albuquerque, New Mexico native hopes to keep herself as active as she was in 2015. But at the same time, she says she also wants to be smart with her decisions.
"I don't like to wait eight months, but I'm not gonna sit here and just demand anything different," Holm said. "You know, if they give me something sooner, great. And if not, great."
