'Homeland' Season 6 Release Date, Spoilers News: To Be Set In New York, 9/11 Story Plot To Be Explored?

The return of the American political thriller TV series "Homeland" for its sixth installment is still far away but fans are already being treated to some spoilers and rumors on what to expect from the show once it premieres.

According to reports, the show's sixth season will be set in a different location this time, which is in New York. This was already confirmed by Executive Producer David Nevins. He said, "Homeland will be shot next year in New York City, in and around New York. It will be set domestically. It will be set primarily in the New York area, but not exclusively."

He also shared that the production team wants to create another America story especially after setting the show in Afghanistan, Pakistan and Europe. He also thinks that with a return to America, the actors will be happy to be back to their hometown for a year.

"I don't think it's necessarily going to stay there forever, but there was a strong interest in doing a domestic story from the creative team," Nevin continued.

And since season 6 is going to be in New York, many speculated that the 9/11 terrorist attack plot may be possibly explored. Movie News Guide detailed that if the 2001 attack will not be the plot, it may be something similar to it. It also cited that the conclusion to Osama Bin Laden's story could also be another possible plot for the show. And with the ongoing presidential campaigns, perhaps "Homeland" will also tackle the issues with Donald Trump and Muslim immigration.

There is no confirmation yet about the speculations so fans will just have to wait for it.

In the meantime, many are wondering about the fate of Carrie (Claire Danes) and Quinn (Rupert Friend), reports have noted that Quinn supposedly died in the season 5 finale. But other sources reported that it's not yet known whether Quinn survives and makes it back to season 6 or if he will be separated forever from Carrie.

The premiere date for "Homeland" season 6 hasn't been announced yet but it's speculated to be back sometime in October.
