'Horizon Zero Dawn' News: 'Frozen Wilds' DLC Trailer Shows Off New Enemy Type

"Horizon Zero Dawn" is welcoming a new mechanical beast.

Sony has unveiled a new trailer called "Meet the Scorcher," teasing what's in store for fans in the game's final downloadable content (DLC). In the latest footage, Sony offers a glimpse of the Scorcher and its different attacks while hunting the player.

The fierce robot spreads flames in the nearby areas as it tries to take down its target. A series of thrusters attached to its body allows the beast to perform an "Ignition Boost" that helps it launch toward its prey at high speeds.

Players can get their hands on the new DLC when "The Frozen Wilds" debuts on Tuesday, Nov. 7, as the final expansion for "Horizon Zero Dawn." Despite being ranked as one of the best exclusives on PlayStation 4 (PS4), this is the first and final post-launch content for the game. It is believed that the developer may be more interested in producing a sequel instead of making the same content.

According to GameZone, now is the best time to try out "Horizon Zero Dawn." The hit action adventure game is currently on sale for $27.99 until Tuesday at 9 a.m. Preordering the new DLC will also come at a discounted price of $14.99. Buying the two costs $42.98 — slightly lower than the $49.99 Complete Edition that will be released on Dec. 5.

"With writing 'The Frozen Wilds' we wanted to do all the things that the main game did," lead writer Ben McCaw previously told OPM UK (via Wccftech). "So we wanted to provide a new area, a new culture, but we also wanted to give Aloy relationships to delve into and ultimately a storyline that does what a lot of other quests in the game do."

Developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, "Horizon Zero Dawn" is exclusively available for PS4.
