'House Of Cards' Season 4 Spoilers: Frank Underwood's Campaign Is Underway In New Teaser Trailer

Commander-in-Chief Frank Underwood (Kevin Spacey) and his Chief of Staff, Doug Stamper (Michael Kelly), are digging up dirt in a recent teaser for the fourth season of the Netflix political drama "House of Cards."

The sound of a shovel hitting earth sets an ominous tone for the short clip, taking viewers back to when Stamper ran over Rachel Posner (Rachel Brosnahan) and buried her body in Season 3. The chilling first seconds of the clip show Stamper, with his sleeves rolled up, digging into the ground before handing the shovel to someone else.

But as Underwood joins Stamper, it becomes clear that the Chief of Staff's digging isn't for a dead body, but for the American president's re-election campaign. Cameras flash and supporters clap as Underwood and Stamper pose with the shovel, in what appears to be one of the Commander-in-Chief's campaign stops.

As in real life, the 2016 presidential campaign is in full swing in the new teaser of "House of Cards." As was previously reported, Netflix announced the fourth season of its Emmy-winning series with a promo clip positioned as an Underwood campaign ad that aired at the CNN GOP presidential debate in December. Another teaser, released earlier this month during the Golden Globes, was another campaign ad detailing why voters should re-elect Frank Underwood. A third teaser revealed Underwood's campaign slogan, "Putting America Back On Track."

Apart from these short promo videos and the fact that Neve Campbell will become a series regular, not much is known about Season 4. Of the latest teaser, Kelly told Deadline, "What do you mean? I can neither confirm nor deny that's even Doug Stamper," the actor teased.

The fourth season of "House of Cards" premieres on Friday, March 4, on Netflix, with all Season 4 episodes becoming available at once.
