HTC One A9 News: Price Rises by $100 on Nov. 7
A lot of Android lovers and HTC fans have been waiting for the Taiwanese company to release its latest handset, the HTC One A9, since the first detail of it was released. However, many were disappointed to learn that the initial price of the One A9 that was announced a week ago was only going to be offered for a limited time basis, and will be $100 more come Nov. 7.
The One A9 is considered a midrange handset, given the smartphone's features. For $399.99, the new HTC handset is a good deal, according to The Verge, since it will already be "unlocked," and looking pretty much like an iPhone. But a lot of anxious buyers were not happy upon hearing the news that the price will go up by $100 more after its limited time offer.
According to Slash Gear, HTC set the price at $399.99 as a pre-sale promotion, and once the One A9 is out in the market, the price will now go up to $499.99. "The One A9 price in the US is a very limited-time promotional offer for that region's online store, as well as select HTC-only franchise stores," a spokesperson from HTC said, according to the report.
The website noted that $499.99 is just the suggested retail price, and retailers can still add more on top of it. Many tech experts suggested that if anyone is willing to pay $500-$700 for a good Android smartphone, it will be better to just get a Google Nexus 6P.
The HTC One A9 comes with a 5-inch display and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 617. It comes with a 13-megapixel rear camera, and has 3 GB RAM and 32 GB expandable memory. On the other hand, the Google Nexus 6P has a 5.7-inch display, and its chipset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810. The camera is only 12 megapixels, but it comes with 3 GB RAM, as well. The Nexus 6P is available in 32, 64, and 128 GB variants.
