Android 6.0 Marshmallow update for HTC Devices: HTC One of First To Announce When Users Are Getting Update
Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC was one of the first ones to announce when their users are getting the much-awaited Android 6.0 Marshmallow update. Following Google's official announcement about the newest version of their mobile OS last September 29, HTC took to Twitter to announce their plans for bringing Android 6.0 to their phones. According to a report in Tech Times, they are one of the first manufacturers who will launch a smartphone with Android 6.0 Marshmallow.
The report cited that HTC will be the first to release a smartphone (which is rumored to be the HTC One A9) that will coming pre-installed with Android 6.0, which they will reportedly make the announcement on October 20.
In their official Twitter account, HTC posted this announcement: "We're roasting marshmallows this fall! We'll begin our Android 6.0 rollout to devices before the end of the year." The post also came with a list of devices that will receive the update.

The first devices to receive the update will the newer flagship devices, namely the HTC One M9 and the One M8 and this will be happening later this year. The One M7 will be excluded from the update though, because it is already two years old.
Among the devices listed are from the newer M and E series such as the One M9+, One E9+, One E9, One ME, One E8, One M8 EYE. The HTC Butterfly 3 is also on the list as well as some Desire phones such as Desire 826, Desire 820 and Desire 816. HTC also said that rolling out the update will be dependent on the mobile carriers, as such the update may not reach all phones in all regions by the end of 2015.
HTC also added that this is not the final list of devices, so other devices may be added later on, especially in 2016.
Aside from One M9 and the One M8, the announcement did not indicate when exactly the updates will start rolling out for the other devices.
