HTC One X10 Release Date, Specs Rumors: Images of New Budget Smartphone Leaked, to Launch at MWC 2017?

Live images of the HTC One X10 have leaked, which suggest that the upcoming smartphone's launch may be imminent.

According to reports, the leaked images were first spotted on Chinese microblogging website Weibo and they do a good job of detailing the HTC One X10's physical design.

Similar to its predecessor, the One X9, which was released in January 2016, the forthcoming device has a curved aluminum unibody with three capacitive buttons on the front panel. On the other hand, the back panel of the One X10 is different from the previous iteration. The rear camera is located in the upper middle part of the back panel and there is a fingerprint sensor below it.

The HTC One X10 first made its appearance last month and based on the technical specifications that were revealed, it is expected to serve as a budget-friendly smartphone. It also has modest upgrades over its predecessor.

HTC's upcoming smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch display with a resolution 1,920 x 1080 pixels. There will also be 3 GB of random-access memory (RAM) and 32 GB of built-in storage.

The new smartphone will be powered by an octa-core 1.9 GHz MediaTek MT6755V/C Helio P10 processor and the Mali T860 graphics processing unit (GPU). Interestingly, the One X9's octa-core MT6795 system on chip (SoC) had a higher clock speed at 2.2 GHz.

When it comes to the camera's specs, the One X10's 16.3-megapixel (MP) rear camera and a 7.9-MP front shooter are an upgrade compared to the previous device's 13-MP and 5-MP cameras.

Pricing is rumored to be about CNY 1,200, which is about $174. As such, this device is expected to compete with affordable offerings from other Chinese brands like Xiaomi and Meizu.

Since the HTC One X10 is expected to break cover soon, the most likely platform for its official introduction will be at the Mobile World Congress (MWC), to be held in Barcelona, Spain from Feb. 27 to March 2.
