HTC's Next Flagship News 2015: Will Be Called 'Perfume,' With Android 6.1
HTC released several phones this year under its HTC One series. Rumors about its upcoming flagship have started circulating a few months ago and the latest rumor claims that the new flagship will come with a new name and an updated Android OS. According to reports, HTC is naming its new flagship "Perfume."
Reports cite a known tipster named LIabTooFeR who claimed that the next phone will come with the name "Perfume" and will come pre-installed with Android 6.1 Marshmallow with HTC's Sense UI version 8.0. This report, courtesy of GforGames, contradicts earlier rumors about another phone that HTC is supposedly working on.
Earlier reports talk about the HTC One M10 which is said to be successor of the HTC One M9. The device is also known as the HTC O2 and is said to be sporting the latest specs. It is rumored to be powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset paired with 4 GB of RAM. It is also said to have a huge battery pack with 3,500 mAh of juice. Internal storage is also rumored to be 64 GB or a whopping 128 GB, which is still expandable via a microSD card slot.
Display-wise, the phone is supposed to have a 6-inch display with 1,440 x 2,560 pixels resolution. There is also a 5-inch variant that will be coming out, according to the report. The phone's main camera is said to be a 20.7 megapixel shooter, while its selfie camera is a 5 megapixel one.
This phone, however, was supposedly abandoned by HTC, according to the GforGames report, in favor of "Perfume." It is not yet clear whether "Perfume" will be sporting the same specs as the rumored HTC One M10. The possibility of it having high-end specs however is quite high, given the trend of flagship phones getting the latest and best specs.
