'HTGAWM' Season 4 Spoilers: Amirah Vann Cast in a Recurring Role
"Underground" star Amirah Vann has been cast in a recurring role for the fourth and current season of "How to Get Away With Murder."
Deadline has confirmed that Vann is among the list of guest stars appearing in the ABC drama this season. Julius Tennon and Jimmy Smits are also slated to appear on the show.
Much of Vann's part in the series is kept under wraps, but The Hollywood Reporter has previously revealed that the actress has been cast to play a prominent role in Annalise Keating's (Viola Davis) life. Her character will also be important to this season's mystery.
Unlike the first three seasons of "How to Get Away With Murder," the mystery no longer has to do with who the killer is. It has been previously established that Laurel Castillo's (Karla Souza) father was behind the killing of Wes Gibbons (Alfred Enoch), his daughter's baby daddy.
As seen in the previous episodes, Laurel is set on finding out who murdered Wes. Although she has yet to prove it, she believes that her father has something to do with it; hence, the lying and the secrecy.
In the trailer for this Thursday's episode, titled "It's For the Greater Good," Laurel can be seen talking to Michaela Pratt (Aja Naomi King), informing her about how terrible her father is, emphasizing the need to put him behind bars.
Executive Producer Pete Nowalk once said that the mystery this season is not a matter of "who" but "where." He even admitted that a character will utter the question by the end of the premiere episode.
Nowalk was most likely referring to Laurel's desperate call for help, "Where is my help?" when she woke up in the hospital, realizing she was no longer carrying her child.
"How to Get Away With Murder" season 4 airs Thursdays, at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
