Huawei P9 Leaked, Reveals Dual Rear Camera, Metal Body, 4 GB of RAM

It's no surprise that the rumor mill is packed with details about Huawei's upcoming smartphone P9. The Mobile World Congress 2016 is coming up and it is confirmed that the Chinese smartphone maker will be attending the event. The P9 may also be unveiled at the MWC. But before it could make its official reveal, leaked images of the device surfaced on Chinese blogging site Weibo by user MyDrivers.

According to a report by Venture Beat, the released images show official-looking renders of the Huawei P9. It gave a confirmation to the previously released details of the device including the dual rear camera and the fingerprint scanner that is located at the back as well. Aside from that, the device will be covered with an all-metal body and will come in four various colors which include gold, white, pink and gray.

Ubergizmo reported that the design of the device somehow looks similar to the iPhone 5 and iPhone 6. Its screen size is expected to be 5.2 inches and will come with Full HD display.

As for the other specs, MyDrivers revealed that the device will be equipped with the Kirin 955 processor and will be packed with 4 GB of RAM and a 2,900 mAh battery. There are some rumors though that the P9 will have as much as 6 GB of RAM.

Pocket-Lint also detailed that the rear cameras will be 12-megapixel cameras with dual LED flash and laser auto focus. The megapixels of the front camera has not been revealed yet. Speculations also reveal that the device may be running with an Android operating system with Huawei's own Emotion UI on top.

The Huawei P9 is the successor of the company's April 2015 smartphone, the P8. There are assumptions that if the device will not be making its reveal during the MWC 2016, it may be launched at the same month that the P8 was launched - April. There's also no word about the price of the device but considering the predecessor's price, the Huawei P9 may be priced around $530 as well.

Fans who are looking forward to meeting the device will have to wait for official details. Until then, it's best to take reports with a grain of salt.
