iPad LTE Experience Expands for AT&T Customers
With the LTE iPad rolling out in just a few days, AT&T has made the necessary steps to expand its 4G LTE coverage to 12 new areas within the U.S.
These areas include three cities in Ohio with Cleveland, Akron and Canton all gaining AT&T LTE. In Indiana, Bloomington, Lafayette and Muncie will receive the high-end wireless internet service. In Louisiana, Baton Rouge and New Orleans will get it. St. Louis, Bryan-College Station, Texas and Staten Island, New York were on the list as well.
"AT&T plans to roll out 4G LTE in Cleveland soon, bringing customers the latest generation of wireless network technology and faster mobile internet speeds," read the press release.
LTE will allow residents of these areas to enjoy faster speeds on their mobile devices that are 10 times quicker than 3G. They will also be able to stream, download, upload and play games at levels that rival high speed internet.
It will also make devices more accessible in these areas. High-end devices such as the Samsung Galaxy S2 Skyrocket and Galaxy Note will finally be able to be used in those places at their optimum level of performance. The most significant of these is the new iPad that will be launching this Friday.
Apple's next generation tablet is the first mobile device made by the company that will connect to 4G LTE on both AT&T and Verizon. The new iPhone is sure to be implementing the technology as well as LTE seems to slowly be becoming the new standard for all high-end mobile devices.
LTE also allows for faster processing and lower latency. Data moves through networks much quicker with the technology making for a PC-like experience on a mobile device.
AT&T began pushing its LTE network to more cities towards the end of last year. It is still new so it is not as congested as Verizon's. It might be the better place for those looking to purchase the new iPad.
