Iron Man 4 Release Date Unknown as Production Remains Mysterious; Robert Downey Jr. Appearing in 'Captain America 3: Civil War'
Marvel is prepping for the premiere of the next Avengers title, "Avengers: Age of Ultron" which is scheduled to be released on May 1 next year. While it's thrilling to see the Marvel superheroes back in action, there are still rumors going around about a fourth Iron Man film.
Actor Robert Downey Jr. who plays as Tony Stark/Iron Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe had already somewhat confirmed the possibility of a fourth Iron Man film.
It looks like negotiations aren't underway but in all possibility, another dedicated Iron Man film could be far off into the future – if there will be one, especially with "Age of Ultron" and "Captain America: Civil War" in the horizon.
Being the one who started the whole Marvel Cinematic Universe, there will be no doubt that Iron Man will be appearing many times in "Age of Ultron" alongside the other superheroes.
Then there's "Captain America: Civil War" slated for a 2016 release. Considering that the plot will be about the Marvel Civil War, Iron Man will also be playing a major role in the Captain America film.
Major appearances in two more Marvel films is as much as an "Iron Man 4" title as it gets and looking at it carefully, there's really no reason for a fourth Iron Man film to be made unless it was really necessary. Not even the director of the Iron Man films knows if there is going to be a fourth one.
"I don't know what's going on with Iron Man 4. You have to talk to Robert or Kevin Feige (Marvel Studios President)," Jon Favreau said during a short interview at a recent BAFTA Awards event in Los Angeles.
