Jennifer Garner Shares Visits Hurricane Harvey Victims, Shares Inspiring Message About What She Has Learned
Jennifer Garner just spent time with the victims of Hurricane Harvey. Apart from this, the actress also shared an inspiring message about what she had learned.
It was reported that actress Jennifer Garner recently paid a visit to Houston along with Save The Children to meet with the victims of Hurricane Harvey, the strongest hurricane to hit the state of Texas in over 50 years. While there, she visited Hilliard Elementary School where she personally gave out donations to the families affected by the hurricane.
"Today I was inspired by the huge hearts in Texas. There is a generosity of spirit that gets lost in political rhetoric, but people come together in a time of crisis. You know what's beautiful? Children look for light," the actress, who is also a member of Save the Children's board of trustees, later said in an Instagram post.
The 45-year-old also shared how adults should learn from the positivity that is ever so present with children, saying, "Terrifying things have happened to these kids in the past couple of weeks, but they don't want to dwell on those stories. They want to tell you that their neighbor's puppy was found. That they saved their mother's life by throwing her a rope when the flood water overcame her and now she's ok. That they all celebrated when power came back on. We have to protect our kids and we have to learn from them."
The mother of three has been revealed to have shared the entire day with the victims. Aside from Garner's philanthropic work, the actress isn't the only celebrity who had extended her hand to help out the victims of Hurricane Harvey. In fact, over the past few weeks, notable actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio and Sandra Bullock had each donated $1 million to the victims.
Celebrities like Miley Cyrus and couple Kim Kardashian and Kanye West had both given $500,000 out of their own pockets for the cause. Superstars Beyonce and Taylor Swift had also extended their aid without disclosing the amount they had given.
But a helping hand doesn't just involve money because it was reported that "Frozen" star Kristen Bell had recently paid a visit Meadow Woods Middle School where a number of people had taken refuge from Hurricane Irma. There, she lifted the people's spirits by singing "For the First Time in Forever." Country star Miranda Lambert was also reported to have rescued about 200 cats and dogs affected by the hurricane.
